Care Instructions

The life of the product is very much dependant on the amount of use and the care taken to prolong it's life. In stating this, all products should last a minimum of 6 months when care instructions are followed.

Prolong the life of your Zealous Swimsuit by following our care instructions and always read the care label inside your garment before use. Remember the care of your swimsuit is your responsibility, Zealous Swimwear can not be held responsible for any damage caused by product mistreatment. These are Australian made, high quality garments that need some TLC to keep them looking great and lasting long!

AVOID ROUGH SURFACES
Sitting and/or rubbing against textured pool decks and any rough edges or objects can ruin the smooth and luxurious texture of your swimwear.

AVOID WEARING YOUR SWIMSUIT TOO TIGHT
If you like to wear your suits firmly, ensure that it doesn't put too much stress on the seams and straps. This can cause unnecessary stress on the stitching and can cause it to break with wear.

AVOID GETTING EXCESS LOTIONS & OILS ON YOUR SWIMWEAR
Sunscreen, tanning oils, and cosmetics can be harmful to swimsuits. Avoid direct contact with the suit when applying lotions. For sunscreen application, we recommend applying the sunscreen to your skin and allow it to dry properly before putting your swimsuit on. If the suits do come in contact with lotions, oils or cosmetics, wash immediately.

RINSE YOUR SWIMSUIT AFTER EACH WEAR
By rinsing your swimsuits in cold or warm water, you will help remove the excess salt and chlorine. This is an important step to take before washing and to help slow down the natural deterioration of the suit over time.

GENTLY WASH YOUR SUITS
We do not recommend to soak, machine wash, tumble dry or to iron your swimsuits. Although your washing machine may be set to a gentle or hand wash cycle, it could still be way too rough. Washing machines can ruin the shape, fabric, and rubber, as well as any delicate embellishments. Therefore wash your swimwear by hand in cold or warm water frequently. Always use a mild soap that is meant for delicate fabrics.

DRY YOUR SWIMWEAR IN THE SHADE
In a shaded and well ventilated area, lay your swimsuit flat to dry or hang gently on a drying rack. Do not leave your swimsuit in direct sunlight. Although the material and prints are fade resistant the rubber in the suits cannot handle the heat from the harsh sun. This will cause the rubber in the edges and straps of the garment to break down faster and they will lose its elasticity.

WHEN TRAVELING WITH WET SUITS TREAT THEM WITH CARE
Do not leave your wet suit rolled up in your towel. This will cause faster deterioration in your swimsuit and it will not last as long as it should, not to mention a nasty smell. Many sports bags have ventilated wet sections, use these where possible. You can also, very carefully, gently and securely loop your suit through an outer strap of your sports bag so that it can dry while you're on the move.
